I mailed in my husband’s, myself and my children’s through the local clerks office for next day mail and expedited service on 01/17/2023 ALL IN THE SAME ENVELOPE! USPS tracking has it arriving to the facility on 01/19/2023.
01/23/2023-Husband’s status changed to arrived and sent to process
01/25/2023-Mine and children’s arrived and sent to process
01/26/2023-check cashed for all of ours
02/10/2023-Husband’s status changed to MAILED OUT with a tracking number, then changed to APPROVED on
02/13/2023 and should be mailed out soon.
02/14/2023-Husband’s arrived in the mail. 29 days start to finish
02/22/2023-Mine and my children’s still say IN PROCESS. Called the agency and they cannot help me until next Monday when our travel will be with in 14 days. (Husband’s status still says will be mailed and they will send a tracking number soon, by the way even though he already has it in hand) We are on day 37 at this time with NO PASSPORT IN HAND or update on the expected time to receive it.

The Arizona post offices that offer passport processing are NOT ALL SHOWN as options on the https://travel.state.gov site. My husband showed up at a “non-passport” post office and asked about renewals and all the options, etc. THAT POST OFFICE had two days per week for two hours starting at opening time to process applications. It wasn’t advertised anywhere! We would have never known if he hadn’t just walked in one day. Also, there is a calendar on the government site for making appointments at post offices. Other people have told me to go to it every single morning as early as possible to check for new openings. I tried to check for cancellations by calling the post office but I couldn’t get through to a live person and the recording offered no information. If the person applying for the passport is on a campus and the passport is delivered to a mailroom, you simply have to go every single day to check on the passport arrival to avoid a four days processing of mail (even if you paid for expediting). You can pay (at the time of paying for expediting) for a separate company to handle the delivery.
