This was a renewal for an adult. Did expedited and also did 1-2 day delivery. From start to the moment I had my passport in hand was 2-weeks exactly. Totally worth the extra $78.32 ($60 for expedited and $18.32 for 1-2 day delivery). I renewed my two kids on 01/10/2023 (web sites says received on 01/17/2023) and still shows “In Process” as of 02/09/2023.

Expedited adult passport renewals (2). Overnight mailed to Philadelphia passport office on 1/20; they picked up on Saturday the 21st but did not show in their system until 1/25. Showed approved on 2/10; mailed later the same day; received 2/11. We paid the additional fee for express mail. So total time start to finish was 22 days.
Applied via paper to Philadelphia processing center, but physical passport was mailed from Little Rock. I did use the prefill option with the online form since it had the barcode. Not sure if it helped but it may have.
No status update emails were ever received and the passports arrived today, so I wouldn’t place any reliance on the email process.
