11 July 2023 – Complete Application, print out with photo, and send package via USPS Priority Mail to Philadelphia Passport Processing Center
12 July 2023 – Priority Mail package accepted at Philadelphia National Passport Agency
14 July 2023 – Passport Application Accepted per travel.state.gov website – application sent to Houston Passport Agency (#79) for processing
17 July 2023 – Check cashed for passport renewal payment
29 August 2023 – Status on travel.state.gov changed from “Processing” to “Approval” – states “Your should receive your passport book on or about 4 September 2023”
29 August 2023 – Receive Notification from USPS that Passport has shipped via Priority Mail from Hot Springs, AR
1 September 2023 – Passport received in mailbox
Took exactly 7 weeks and 3 days from the time I completed the application until I had the passport in my hand.

My case took 6 weeks, a little bit shorter than the average (though it should not be that long). I filled the application online, printed it out with the bar code and mailed it. The bar code might help a bit, I think. The info is scanned from the bar code instead of being typed in and then verified again.
