It’s been 20 weeks, well beyond all estimated times, whether those for when I applied or the updated ones since. I have requested expedition and have received no response, likely because my travel plans are not yet within two weeks (I fly in June). I very much doubt two weeks will be long enough to get an appointment to try to expedite again.
I applied at the end of last year. In January, I received requests to report my passport lost or stolen, which I did immediately. I have received no update whatsoever in the three intervening months.
Countless calls to the passport office have been fruitless.
I also applied for a renewal passport last year, which, according to the tracking number I was never provided but which I managed to get via numerous hours-long calls, discovered that it was never sent, and it was too late to ask for a replacement. My current application is to replace this last one, and is my second in a year.
The passport office has been dysfunctional to the extreme in my experience. I do not expect that I will be able to travel abroad after the office will have had my application for nearly seven months.

New application, not a renewal.
3/11 Applied at post office. Requested expedited service, standard shipping. Expedited time was 5-7 weeks at this time.
3/12 Found out I could be traveling 1st week in may.
3/15 Application accepted at facility.
3/23 Called number to switch to expedited shipping. Was on hold for 4 hours. Got shipping switched. Customer service girl would not provide any additional information. Said she can only see what I see on the website. I stated I have travel planned right at the 7 week mark.
3/24 Checked website and wait times had increased to 7-9 weeks! Oh no! Holding off to buy tickets.
4/12 Received passport book today! Only 4 weeks after acceptance! I have not received passport card yet. Securing tickets now!
