Here the timeline ‪on my teens passports renewal to give some of us peace of mind :)‬
‪03/02 apply at post office routine process ‬
‪03/13 status went to “in process”. Check cashed probably 1-2 days after.‬
‪03/27 called 877 number (took about 1 hour 20 minutes from dialing to finished) to expedite the passport and paid for 1-2 days mail over the phone with my CC, since I saw on the news that they’re increasing routine processing to 10-13 weeks.‬
‪03/28 someone called from Locator 50 passport agency to confirmed that I wanted to expedite both of passports. Confirmed. I see charges on my CC.‬
‪03/29 status changed to “expedite”.‬
‪04/04 status changed to approved ‬
‪04/05 status changed to shipped (me tracking for next day air).‬

‪So from applying to shipped is about a month. ‬

1/12/23 Submitted application online. Selected Standard processing. Online status showed received and updated to In Process approximately two hours later. Two emails were received on 1/12/23 indicating Received and In Process.
3/17/23 Added priority 1-2 day mail delivery via the online site.
3/31/23 Online status changed to Received. No mail notification sent.
4/4/23 Online status changed to Shipped. Email notification received late evening indicating Shipped and Tracking Info would be available. Checked the site immediately and no tracking info. Checked, again, morning of 4/5/23 and still no tracking info nor projected delivery date listed.
4/5/23 Surprise in mailbox. Passport was delivered. Date on envelope showed a 4/4/23 ship date and the return address showed it came from New Hampshire.

When submitted application on 1/12, standard processing time and email received from Travel State Gov indicated 6-9 weeks for processing.
At the beginning of February, saw Travel State Gov site had revised processing times to 8-11 weeks and then 11-13 weeks at the beginning of March. Did not receive any notifications indicating processing delay for our passport.
4/6/23 it would have been 12 weeks. So, received one day short of 12 full weeks and 3 weeks later than the original processing time stated. Online status remained In Process from 1/12 to 4/4.

The application was sent 2/27, received 3/3. More than four weeks passed and the application was still “in process.” We contacted our Congressional representative’s office on 4/3, had the application updated to expedited, and received it on 4/6. The staffer was beyond helpful and we are grateful. I don’t know if it helped that our representative is the Speaker of the House. Now that we have it, I can safely say that I did not vote for him!
