First 11 weeks – no idea of status since it didn’t move from “Received” for me and “In Process” for husband; both applied same day
3//10 upgraded to express shipping +$20/each
3/15 contacted congress rep office;
3/16 filled out privacy release form for congressional rep. They wrote back to say they could do nothing until 2 week prior to travel (4/20) but suggested I pay expedite processing even though we were now outside of both routine (3-5 or 4-6 weeks) and expedited (6-8 or 9-11 weeks).
3/16 upgraded to expedited processing +$60/each
3/21 status changed to “in process” for mine, husband’s stayed the same
3/22 status changed to “shipped” for both; online portal provided USPS tracking # for both. Signed up for USPS Informed Delivery (free of charge) –
USPS Informed delivery provides continuous updates as parcel moves from “pre-shipment, when label is printed at origin”, through to receipt at origin facility, to arrival at destination facility, to delivery. Currently out for delivery, but I signed up for every checkbox of notification that was available. Today is 3/23 and I expect delivery by the dinner hour Pacific Time.

Applied and accepted Jan 17, 2023. After 2 months, upgraded to expedited as needed by March 23, 2023. Several holds to get information—-one 3 hours, one 6 hours. Got it priority mail on March 23, 2023. Appears to have been approved on the 19th and prepared that day, but not mailed until late on the 21st.

The status has not changed since 1/11/23 (Received). No change in status as of 3/23/23 as I head in to my 12 week. Have called twice with over 1 hour wait. Many times the line is busy and if they do answer they hang up due to call volume. The call back option does not work. The people I have spoken to are not helpful and seem to pass the buck. I am glad that this will be my last renewal due to my age.

I realized my passport would only be valid for 2 months after I returned from my cruise…(needed to be valid for 6 months after my trip)

Mailed in my “expedited” request for a renewal on 2-02-23

I watched it go from one post office location to another.

It arrived and showed “picked up” on 2-22-23.

The check for the renewal plus the expedited fee was deposited on
2-24-23.

For the next few weeks it went back and forth from being received to processing.

On 3-19-23 it showed that it was approved and that I would have it by 3-26-23.

I received it on 3-23-23.

Phew!! I needed it for 3-30-23.

Stress was now over! All set for my cruise.

2/20 – USPS tracking states that my documents were delivered to PO box
2/22 – Passport processing website shows as “received”
2/24 – Check was cashed
2/23-3/20 – Status was shown as “in process”
3/21 – Status changed to “approved” with tracking number, later the tracking number disappeared so make sure you copy it asap
3/22 – received passport book (still waiting on my documents and passport card)

Overall, it paid to pay for expedited processing and 2 day delivery as my travel day is 4/10. My passport processed through the national passport center and shipped from Arkansas.
