Husband & I submitted same day, online. Status as of 3/16 is “received” for me and “in process” for him. Unable to reach passport agency by phone, automated call system disconnects w/o processing call. Contacted my congressman’s office-they said they are unable to do anything until 14 days prior to travel. We applied with > 90 days time before travel and are now 70 days into wait. Just upgraded service to get expedite processing & shipping, but already outside the expedite window (quote is 5-7 weeks but we are at 11 weeks). Fingers crossed, we fly 20 April.

Passport status on government website showed “not available” until “in process” on March 5. Application mailed USPS priority mail. Passport received March 16 USPS priority mail from New Orleans. We have April 15 cruise. Neighbor suggested contacting our US congressional representative if within 14 days of departure. He go through to his rep and their office responded the next day and took care of his problem. Seems better response than a hangup from passport customer service. We didn’t have to go that route.
