Check cleared on 2/14, It has taken 5 weeks for them to finally receive the application and now they say it will take 8-11 weeks more added to the already 5 weeks it has taken for them to receive the application. It might take 5+11=16 weeks from mailing date. unreal

Applying for the online renewal was easy. I applied expedited, which at the time was 3-5 weeks. But it never moved past “in process”. Needed for 3/15 and had to get my Congress person’s office involved. Magically turned to “printed” the next day after their inquiry and received two days later.

Needed a first time passport for a trip coming up at the end of March and the application process to expedite it went very well. They even told me when I applied at the county clerk’s office that it would take about 4 weeks with expediting it and they were correct.
