I have a silly question: what does 34.25 days mean? Thanks for explanation.

It’s just the figure that we get from calculating the average from the number of days waiting and the number of applicants. Essentially its 34 days.

Thanks for the reply. Does the number mean the average waiting time is between 25 and 34 days? This format (34.25) is hard to understand though.

It is an average which is why it is to a decimal point. So the average is between 34 and 35 days.

Very helpful info, thank you. Can you clarify what the start date is for calculating this processing time? Is it the date the renewal shows in the US system as In Process, the date the check is cashed, the date the renewal is delivered to the acceptance center? I submitted to the Seattle acceptance center (not passport office) on 4/24, and it showed up In Process in the online system 4/2. My renewal is for a recently expired passport, non-expedited. Thanks!

Sorry, I submitted at the acceptance center 3/24, not 4/24, and the renewal showed up In Process on 4/2.

If a status is Not available does that mean the passport information submitted is lost in transit? It’s been over a month and my kids have been “in process” 3 weeks while my husbands still isn’t showing up. All checks have been cashed so I’m hoping the update is just not showing.
